ESPO and FEPORT advocate for tax incentives for shore-based electricity supply in the EU.

The European Sea Ports Organisation (ESPO) and the Federation of European Private Port and Terminal Companies (FEPORT) are advocating for the introduction of a mandatory tax exemption for onshore power supply (OPS) as part of the review of the Energy Taxation Directive (ETD).

They believe that such an exemption is vital to promote the use of OPS, a key priority under the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR). This policy will contribute to the decarbonisation of the maritime sector and ensure a level playing field for all EU Member States.
