A meeting of the heads of railways of Kazakhstan and China was held in Xi’an, where strategic cooperation in the field of railway transportation was discussed. In recent years, there has been a significant increase in freight traffic between the two countries, and in 2023, the volume of transportation reached a record 28.3 million tons.
Particular attention was paid to the stability of cargo transit along the TITR route and improving the quality of data exchange between Kazakhstan and China Railways. Measures to ensure the safety and stable movement of container trains were also discussed.
Both sides confirmed that in the next two years they will complete important infrastructure projects, which will increase throughput capacity and transportation volumes, strengthening the growth rate of freight traffic.
