In Xi’an (China), documents were signed on the establishment of a joint venture for the implementation of the project to build a container hub in the port of Aktau. The project participants were JSC KTZ Express, LLC GC Port Lianyungang and JSC NC Aktau Sea Trade Port. This event took place within the framework of the International Silk Road Exhibition.
The project is supported by the governments of Kazakhstan and China and is being implemented within the framework of the One Belt, One Road initiative. The construction of a hub in the port of Aktau will strengthen Kazakhstan’s position in the global logistics system and increase the importance of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), which will lead to an increase in the volume of transit traffic.
Cooperation between KTZ Express and the port of Lianyungang has been going on for more than 10 years. Joint projects include the Kazakh-Chinese terminal in the port of Lianyungang and the largest dry port in Central Asia, Khorgos Gateway.
