PKP and Green Cargo are discussing the launch of a ferry service between Poland and Sweden.

Polish Railways (PKP) and Swedish operator Green Cargo are negotiating the launch of a rail-ferry connection between Poland and Sweden. The initiative aims to develop multimodal transport in the North-South corridor across the Baltic Sea.

At the first stage, it is planned to study the model of transporting containers through the ports of Gdansk, Gdynia and Sopot. In the future, it is planned to use rail ferries to transport wagons with cargo, which will allow companies from Poland, the Czech Republic and other countries of Central and Southern Europe to gain new logistics opportunities.

The possibility of using modern multi-system locomotives operated by PKP CARGO International for transport to the Adriatic coast is also being discussed, which will expand transport routes and improve transport efficiency.
