The recent Kazakh-German Logistics Forum, dedicated to the theme “Kazakhstan – a bridge between Europe and Asia”, brought together representatives of the largest international companies and associations, as well as experts from leading educational institutions in Central Asia and Europe.
The forum participants discussed the prospects for the development of transport corridors and strengthening cooperation in the field of logistics and trade. Particular attention was paid to the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), which is increasingly strengthening its position as an effective alternative to traditional sea routes. Experts predict a significant increase in transportation volumes along the TITR in the coming years.
To implement ambitious plans for the development of transport infrastructure, Kazakhstan plans to invest more than 10 billion dollars. Large-scale infrastructure projects aimed at increasing the capacity of railway lines, modernizing transport hubs and creating new logistics centers were presented within the framework of the forum. Among them are the construction of a second track on the Dostyk-Moiynty section, a bypass railway line bypassing Almaty station, as well as a new railway checkpoint on the Darbaza-Maktaaral section.
In addition to infrastructure projects, much attention at the forum was paid to the development of human capital. Participants discussed issues of training highly qualified specialists in the field of logistics, the introduction of a dual education system and the development of scientific research.
