On August 27, at 14:00 local time, the container ship “Hamburg Express” was successfully delivered by the Hanwha shipyard to Hapag-Lloyd AG in Hamburg. With a capacity of 23,660 TEU, “Hamburg Express” is the seventh vessel of 12 in this class under construction.
The vessel will fly the German flag and will be officially christened on November 4 in Hamburg, where the ceremony will be performed by Eva Maria Tschencher, wife of the mayor of Hamburg.
The “Hamburg Express” will leave the shipyard today and head to Ningbo, where it will begin operating on the FE3 service.
