The volume of container transportation along the Trans-Caspian route has increased 14 times.

Since the beginning of the year, the volume of container transportation from China via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route has increased 14 times compared to the same period last year.

In order to further develop the multimodal corridor connecting China and Europe, JSC NC KTZ together with JSC KTZ Express and other participants in the route are working to increase transportation volumes, improve service and reduce delivery times. Currently, delivery from Altynkol station to Absheron (Baku) takes nine days, to Poti/Batumi (Georgia) – 12 days, to Constanta (Romania) via Poti/Batumi – 20-22 days.

Also last year, KTZ created the Middle Corridor Multimodal Ltd Joint Venture with the railway administrations of Azerbaijan and Georgia, which improved the multimodal service and introduced a one-stop service. The company is actively developing port infrastructure in the Caspian Sea with the involvement of international logistics companies.
