EAIL24: Enhancing Transportation Processes through Online System Solutions.

System solutions in the transport industry fundamentally change traditional approaches. Alina Zhizhina, Director of the International Relations and Marketing Department at SIGIS, is confident that an important element of such changes is real-time tracking, management of transport processes and logistics tasks. This allows customers to reduce transportation costs and improve overall company productivity.

Over 32 years of operation, SIGIS has deeply studied the problems that their customers face every day. The main challenges were:

  • The lack of a unified approach to managing transport corridors, which complicates logistics and increases the cost and time of transit.
  • Capacity constraints and various bottlenecks in the supply chain, leading to inefficiencies and additional costs.
  • A technological gap that prevents the effective exchange of data between participants in the transport process.
  • Limited opportunities for small and medium enterprises due to high barriers to entry and significant initial investment.

In 2008, SIGIS launched a 24/7 online wagon location monitoring service, providing a low-cost and effective solution for monitoring rail and container shipments. This system solves complex problems such as transit time optimization, supply chain visibility and rolling stock management.

“Real-time tracking systems are highly sought after by our customers due to the complexity of tracking in some regions of the world. Our users can easily find a container or wagon by simply entering its number and the system will provide data about its current location. In addition to tracking, the system offers a comprehensive solution for managing orders and reservations, providing various approaches to data distribution and notifications, allowing you to improve business processes.

Each car in the system is assigned a status, providing real-time visibility. Users can take advantage of a wide range of reports that assist in the management of rolling stock. Realizing that our clients have reached the maximum in rolling stock management, we decided to create a new system – an automated logistics platform. This platform allows you to manage all aspects of transportation from one window, from planning routes and selecting carriers to tracking cargo and managing invoices,” explained Alina Zhizhina.

The system makes it easy to compare fares, find suitable transit times and choose the most economical and reliable options. What used to take freight forwarders days or weeks can now be calculated and issued almost instantly thanks to automation. Customers can compare rates from multiple carriers, request quotes, and use automatic billing all in one window, making the process convenient and efficient.

Currently, the system includes up to 20 models, which are constantly being improved. The SIGIS development team also offers system customization to meet specific user needs. All training and technical support are provided daily, allowing clients to achieve the best results. The system is hosted in a secure cloud, supported by several data centers throughout Europe, and, if necessary, can be integrated with other systems and run on the client’s infrastructure.

“Our system provides comprehensive data security through encrypted backups, centralized data storage and access to various programs on a single integrated platform. This setup eliminates the need for disparate storage solutions and ensures seamless integration with external systems, such as banking or government networks, which we have successfully implemented in past projects,” added Alina Zhizhina.

Access to the system is securely managed via a VPN or Internet connection, allowing users to connect from any device, anywhere, at any time. This flexibility is supported by a team of system experts who are ready to assist and ensure smooth operation.
