MULTIMODAL TRANSPORT AND TRANSIT FORUM 2025 – Results Overview.

On December 3-4, 2025, the Sheraton Grand Tbilisi Metechi Palace Hotel in Tbilisi hosted a key event in the field of transport logistics in Georgia – the international conference MULTIMODAL TRANSPORT AND TRANSIT FORUM 2025.

The forum was attended by over 100 delegates from 15 countries.

The forum discussed trends in the freight transportation and transit market through the Black Sea region, rail freight transportation, maritime transport, and the freight market situation in the Black Sea region, as well as prospects for seaport development.

Session 1 was concluded by Mikheil Namadovi, Director, Kairos Logistics. He discussed the topic of “Multimodal land transportation and Georgia’s growing role as a regional transit hub: current challenges, market dynamics and opportunities for 2026”.

After the lunch break, the forum continued with Session 2: Shaping the Middle Corridor: Today’s Realities and Tomorrow’s Opportunities. It was opened by Алтынбек Акылбеков, Head of Logistics Kazakhstan and Central Asia – DB Cargo Евразия GmbH; Head of Kazakhstan Branch – DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH, who also served as moderator. He discussed the challenges and prospects of the Middle Corridor.

Paata Tsagareishvili, Head of the Center for Transport Corridor Research, concluded Session 2 with a presentation on transport (freight) flows and development opportunities along the Middle Corridor.

After a coffee break, participants returned to the conference hall to continue listening to the speakers. Session 3: Seaports and Dry Ports development – become «greener» and «smarter» began with a presentation by Хорди Торрент, General Secretary, MEDPorts, who discussed how ports are adapting to global challenges and changes, as well as a Mediterranean perspective on decarbonization, digitalization, and diversification.

The forum concluded with Oksana Kiktenko, CEO, Belgorod-Dnestrovskiy Port . She shared her thoughts on expanding the export and transit capabilities of the Middle Corridor: the role of Belgorod-Dnestrovskiy Port.
