Georgian Industrial Group will launch regular ferry service from Kuryk to Alyat across the Caspian Sea in 2026.

Georgian Industrial Group announced plans to launch two sea ferries on the Kuryk (Kazakhstan) – Alyat (Azerbaijan) route in the first half of 2026. The project aims to establish regular transport links across the Caspian Sea and increase cargo traffic along a key link in the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.

The company notes that by 2027, the ferry fleet will be expanded to six vessels, which will increase capacity on the route, speed up cargo handling, and stimulate the development of port infrastructure in the region. This initiative will further enhance Kazakh-Georgian economic ties, which already include the operations of 51 Georgian-owned enterprises in the Mangystau region.

According to the Kazakh government, mutual trade turnover between the region and Georgia amounted to $1.9 million from January to October 2025. Georgian Industrial Group’s new ferry project aims to strengthen this dynamic and enhance the role of the Caspian Corridor in international trade.
