The Batumi Sea Port continues to increase cargo handling volumes from Kazakhstan. Since the beginning of 2026, approximately 31,000 tons of Kazakh products – comprising exports, imports, and transit shipments – have passed through the port. The facility handles key cargo categories, thereby strengthening transport links between Kazakhstan, Georgia, and international markets.
The port’s dry cargo terminal handled the shipment of 3,000 tons of Kazakh ammophos in big bags. For comparison, the total volume of this mineral fertilizer handled by the Batumi Port in 2025 was 8,500 tons. Sulfur also remains a major export commodity shipped to foreign markets via the Georgian port.
Since the start of 2026, 27,700 tons of Kazakh sulfur have been exported to Morocco through the Batumi Sea Port. In 2025, the total handling volume reached 36,600 tons, with 28,600 tons destined for Morocco and 8,000 tons for Turkey. Port officials note that this steady growth in cargo traffic underscores the demand for the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route and the development of logistics cooperation among the region’s countries.
