On February 9, 2026, Azerbaijan Railways Chairman Rovshan Rustamov held a working meeting in Tashkent with Zufar Narzullaev, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Railways, and Lasha Abashidze, CEO of Georgian Railways. The Azerbaijani company is part of AZCON Holding.
The talks focused on expanding trilateral railway cooperation and improving the efficiency of freight transportation from Central Asian countries to Europe along the Middle Corridor. The parties discussed the coordination of railway operations and additional measures to increase transit potential.
Particular emphasis was placed on the digitalization of processes. The meeting participants noted that scaling up digital solutions will increase transportation volumes along the corridor, speed up cargo processing, and attract new flows to the Eurasian region.
