Ankara advocates for the accelerated development of the Trans-Caspian transport route.

Turkey supports intensifying efforts to further develop the international Trans-Caspian Transport Route and considers it a key area of Eurasian logistics. This was stated by Turkish Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ahmet Demirok, who emphasized that this corridor has already proven its reliability, safety, and practical applicability in the changing global logistics environment.

According to him, there has recently been growing interest in the Trans-Caspian Route from the United States and the European Union. The diplomat noted the complementary roles of the countries along the route: Turkmenistan is an important transit link for Turkish products to Central Asia, while Turkey plays a strategic role in connecting Turkmen goods to European markets. In this regard, Ankara considers it necessary to strengthen the development of multimodal transportation, as well as simplify and expedite transport and customs operations at the bilateral and trilateral levels, including cooperation with Azerbaijan.

Ahmet Demirok also emphasized the importance of Turkmenistan’s contribution to the development of regional transport infrastructure, specifically mentioning the Turkmenbashi International Seaport, built with the participation of Turkish contractors and boasting high logistics potential. The ambassador expressed Turkey’s readiness for further cooperation in developing maritime transport infrastructure in the Caspian Sea. The Middle Corridor is a multimodal route connecting China and Europe via Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, and Georgia, using rail and sea transport, primarily containerized.
