Armenia plans to create a state-owned company to develop transport infrastructure.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced plans to create a national company that will implement large-scale infrastructure projects, including in the transport and energy sectors. The initiative is being discussed as part of preparations for the signing of a peace agreement with Azerbaijan and is aimed at attracting investment in the Crossroads of Peace project.

According to the head of government, the new structure will be engaged in the construction of roads, railway routes, energy and gas networks, as well as electricity supply infrastructure. The company, as Pashinyan noted, should be owned by Armenia, despite the possible attraction of external capital.

The prime minister also emphasized that similar models are already being used in the country: the management of Zvartnots Airport and Armenian Railways has been outsourced, while the facilities remain state property. This, according to him, does not violate the sovereignty or territorial integrity of Armenia, but on the contrary, contributes to effective development.
