The need to improve operational efficiency and attract additional cargo volumes against the backdrop of increasing the line’s throughput capacity to 5 million tons per year was noted. In this context, the parties discussed the intensification of the work of the BTKI Railways joint venture for a more coordinated organization of transportation, as well as the implementation of the bilateral roadmap of June 2025. Azerbaijani and Georgian railway workers are already systematically exchanging data to optimize interaction and improve coordination at the border.
Additionally, digital initiatives planned for implementation by the end of the year were discussed: the transition to paperless document management and the launch of the Track and Trace cargo monitoring system along the entire Middle Corridor. The parties agreed on regular work of specialized groups and direct consultations to strengthen cooperation and effectively organize cargo flows along the East-West-East axis.
