CLdN has completed a major upgrade to its terminal infrastructure, which will optimise space and speed up cargo handling. A new terminal management system and upgraded entry gates will improve the cargo handling process for customers.
A key part of the project was the expansion of the RoRo ramp, opening up opportunities to increase capacity on the Liverpool – Dublin route. The upgraded berthing facilities will allow for larger, more environmentally friendly vessels to be handled. CLdN currently operates 17 return sailings between Liverpool and Dublin, providing an important cargo link between the UK and Ireland, as well as transit traffic from Spain.
The investment has also created new jobs at the terminal, with the company partnering with a local college to launch a technical apprenticeship programme.
