Danish logistics company DSV has won the bid to buy Schenker, the logistics arm of German state railway Deutsche Bahn. According to sources in the railway company and the German government, a preliminary contract worth around 14 billion euros will be signed in the coming days.
The deal still needs to be approved by Deutsche Bahn’s supervisory board, which includes representatives of the government, parliament and trade unions. A Deutsche Bahn spokesman declined to comment, while DSV said it does not discuss market rumors.
Earlier, financial investor CVC also participated in the bid to buy Schenker, but DSV emerged victorious.
