On May 30-31 in Rotterdam, at the Hilton Rotterdam, a key event in the field of transport logistics in the Netherlands took place – the international conference EUROPE-ASIA INTERMODAL LOGISTICS: NEW SILK WAY SHAPING.
The forum discussed the topics of trends in intermodal logistics, ports as centers of European logistics and gateways for transport from Asia, rail freight, as well as the future of the “New Silk Road”.

The meeting began with welcome coffee and conversation in a relaxed atmosphere.

The forum was opened by Ральф-Чарли Шульце, President of УИРР, talking about intermodal logistics in a real political and economic context.

Oleg Kostyuk, генеральный директор Formag Forwarding, raised a very interesting topic of where the New Silk Road will lead us.

Session 1 was continued by Лилиана Крутоног, General Director of MALBI-trans. She presented the topic of innovative intermodal technologies.

Guanzhe Cao, Head Asia Desk of duisport Group, Дуиспорт – Дуйсбургер Хафен АГ continued, talking about duisport as an intermodal hub for intercontinental logistics activities.

Session 2 was completed by Erik Mekenkamp, Chief Consultant, Buck Consultants International. He spoke about public-private partnerships within the Dutch Topcorridors, noting that the TEN-T network is becoming stronger, more resilient and more resilient.

After lunch we moved on to Session 3: Rail Freight Transport. Its moderator was also Liliana Krutonog.

Continued Session 3 Marc Hunziker, Head of Asset and Sales Coordination, Intermodal Product and Business Development at VTG RAIL EUROPE GMBH. He spoke about the company’s approach to supporting Modalshift in Europe.

Mark Jansen, Chief Executive Officer of HUPAC NV (Hupac Group), spoke about the impact of railways on the European multimodal transport chain. He also gave an overview of the leading ongoing rail infrastructure projects in Europe, covering Northern and Eastern Europe.

Session 3 was completed by Alina Zhizhina, Director of the International Relations and Marketing Department of SIGIS. She covered the topic “Improving transport processes using online system solutions.”

Session 4: Shaping the future of the New Silk Road – vision and strategies was moderated by Павел Лагов, Director of Product Management (CIS), Rail Solutions International, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics Germany. He also opened the Session with the topic “Middle Corridor: Challenges and Prospects. View of international LSPs.”

The next online speaker was Rashad SHAKAROV FICS, PgDip, Founder and General Director of the Azerbaijan Maritime Engineering and Construction LLC. He discussed the Azerbaijan-Europe logistics bridge, multimodal transport through the Central Corridor, difficulties and solutions.

Jondari Kemularia, Генеральный директор Marine Shipping & Forwarding LTD , talking about unlocking the potential of the Middle Corridor.

The forum was cThe forum was concluded by Ctirad Klimanek, Managing Partner of RAILVIS.com. He raised the topic “European railway logistics – opportunities and challenges.”

Participants continued the forum over evening cocktail reception, communicating, making new acquaintances and discussing projects.
The second day of the forum was dedicated to a boat trip through the port of Rotterdam. The participants listened to an interesting excursion, learned a lot of new things and had an informative time.
