Regional rail operator from Germany, the former Go-Ahead Deutschland, acquired by the Austrian Federal Railways in February 2024 from The Go-Ahead Group, is now officially renamed Arverio Deutschland. This renaming occurred in honor of the Halo-Roman god of trade and patron of roads and travel, Arvernus, comparable to Mercury, the god of trade.
On July 10, Arverio announced its new name, emphasizing its goal to remain a market-oriented and independent railway company. Arverio’s subsidiaries, which operate passenger trains in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria, plan to provide ÖBB with “ideal conditions” for development in southern Germany.
Arverio’s headquarters were moved from Berlin to Stuttgart to strengthen their focus in the region. The Arverio rebrand is scheduled to be completed by early 2025, with passenger trains retaining their current livery and colors.
