Kazakh Transport Minister Marat Karabayev held a meeting with Andreas Matte, Chairman of the Board of the Austrian railway company ÖBB, as part of the Astana International Forum. The parties discussed expanding partnership in the field of rail transportation, digitalization of logistics processes, and exchange of experience between national operators of the two countries.
The focus was on the strategic role of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route as a reliable corridor between East and West. It was noted that further development of this area requires modernization of the railway network, construction of logistics terminals, and creation of conditions for attracting private capital.
Following the talks, Kazakhstan and Austria confirmed their intention to deepen cooperation and implement joint infrastructure projects.
