General Director of STK KAZLOGISTICS Erlan Absatov met with the Ambassador of Lithuania to Kazakhstan, Egidius Navis, to discuss key issues, including the upcoming intergovernmental commission and the activities of the Kazakh-Lithuanian Business Council. The agreement signed in 2022 between the Union of Transport Workers of Kazakhstan and the Confederation of Industrialists of Lithuania implies the strengthening of Kazakh-Lithuanian cooperation.
Erlan Absatov, who holds the post of Chairman of the Business Council, emphasized that the main goals of the council include the development of cooperation in various fields, such as transport, industry, trade and economic issues, science, technology, energy and agriculture. Lithuania, being one of Kazakhstan’s important trading partners in the European Union, actively supports expanded partnership and cooperation between Kazakhstan and the EU.
Trade turnover between the countries in 2023 reached 223,642 thousand US dollars, and the volume of transit cargo transportation from Lithuania through Kazakhstan increased by more than 4.8 times compared to 2022, emphasizing the importance of strategic partnership in the transport and logistics sector.
