In January 2024, the Kazakhstan Transport Railway (KTZ) noted an increase in the total volume of loading on the network to 20.2 million tons. Domestic rail transport grew by 4.7% to 13.2 million tonnes, while exports stood at 7 million tonnes.
The main social cargo – coal – amounted to 9 million tons, including more than 6.5 million tons of internal transport. Grain, the second most important social cargo, was transported over a thousand tons, including exports of about 560 thousand tons. Growth was also recorded in oil cargo (4.8%), ferrous metals (33.6%) and chemical fertilizers (10.3%), supporting the overall dynamic trend in various transportation sectors.
