A.P. Moller – Maersk has opened its first bonded warehouse in Vietnam at SLP Park in Nam Dinh Vu Industrial Zone in Hai Phong Province. Managed by Maersk Contract Logistics, the warehouse is an important step in expanding the company’s presence in northern Vietnam amid growing demand for import and export services. The opening was supported by the Commercial Counsellor of the Danish Embassy in Vietnam, Mr. Lasse Pedersen Hjortshøi, who stressed the importance of international business cooperation.
The warehouse is strategically located in the Hai Phong Port Area, making it a key hub in the logistics network in northern Vietnam. It will link Maersk’s current fulfillment center in Hai Phong with the new terminal at Lach Huyen Port, which is being developed in partnership with APM Terminals and Hateco. This will improve warehousing solutions, increase operational efficiency and optimize supply chains for local customers.
The new warehouse is equipped with modern technologies to improve efficiency and safety, including automated metering and control systems, energy-efficient lighting, and systems to minimize energy consumption. The first client of the new facility will be Amazon Vietnam, which will begin operations in October. The warehouse will also provide customs clearance and domestic transportation services.
