Maersk has opened a new Ground Freight terminal in Savannah, Georgia, expanding the company’s integrated logistics network in the United States. The new 20,000-square-foot facility features three docks and a fleet of on-site vehicles for efficient pickup and delivery services in the local market.
Savannah is a key hub in Maersk’s network, anchored by the rapidly growing Port of Savannah and direct access to I-95 and I-16. The new terminal complements Contract Logistics’ existing facilities and recent openings in Lake City, Georgia, and Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, creating a regional system of integrated services and accelerating connections to major markets in the Southeastern United States.
According to Bob Livingston, head of Maersk Ground Freight Operations in North America, the company continues to invest in developing a more connected logistics network. With over 65 ground delivery facilities in the region, Maersk provides customers with end-to-end supply chain visibility and minimizes logistics complexity with a single, door-to-door partner.
