New Transmontana locomotive put into service by CER Hungary.

CER Hungary Zrt. has officially accepted the new Transmontana locomotive into service. This is a significant event, as exactly ten years ago the company took delivery of its first locomotive of this model. László Horváth (Chairman of the Board of Directors of CER Cargo Holding and LAC Holding), Sebastian Gyta (CEO of Softronic), Géza Dem (CEO of Széchenyi Funds) and Kálmán Tekse (CEO of Deutsche Leasing) spoke at the ceremony.

Over the past decade, CER has been actively modernizing its fleet, offering innovative and reliable solutions for international rail freight. The 6,000 kW Transmontana locomotives have proven themselves with high productivity and low operating costs on key routes in Europe, including the Belgrade-Budapest rail corridor. The new 610-105 locomotive is equipped with the advanced ETCS system, ensuring safe and efficient transportation, and will be used on routes between Hungary, Romania and Slovakia.

CER plans to further expand its international activities, including launching operations in Austria and Germany. To this end, work is underway to certify the locomotives in accordance with international standards. The partnership with Softronic Srl. in Craiova will allow the adaptation of Transmontana locomotives to the requirements of the European and non-European markets. CER is also committed to the principles of sustainable development, implementing energy-saving technologies and promoting environmentally friendly transportation.
