A key component of this project is the Deepening of the approach fairway and internal waters of the Port of Gdynia, which involves the construction of a new bay. This initiative aims to enhance port infrastructure, accommodating larger container and bulk ships with dimensions of up to 400 meters in length, 58 meters in width, and a maximum draft of 14.7 meters. The entire project is slated for completion in the fourth quarter of 2025, featuring advancements such as the enlargement of turntable No. 2 and the relocation of the floating dock of the PGZ Stocznia Wojenna, enabling the rotation of units up to 400 meters long.
NDI S.A. and NDI SOPOT S.A., operating as a consortium, are the appointed general contractors for the construction project, having signed a contract worth over 82 million zloty gross in July 2023. The consortium is responsible for obtaining an occupancy permit, and the project is progressing well, encompassing pile-driving, reinforced concrete works, and upcoming dredging operations using state-of-the-art equipment, including the second-largest pile driver in Europe. The expected completion date for the project is the first quarter of 2025.
