The Poti Trans Terminal container terminal was put into operation on May 23, 2025. The project was implemented in 16 months with the support of investors from Kazakhstan, Georgia and Azerbaijan. The total investment amounted to $31.5 million, according to the Kazakh company PTC Holding.
The terminal is capable of simultaneously handling up to 120 wagons and up to 50 containers per hour. Currently, it employs 50 people, but by the end of the year, the staff will increase to 120 employees.
The grand opening of the facility in the Georgian port of Poti is scheduled for June 9. Let us recall that the capsule for construction was laid in August 2023 with the participation of the Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan Marat Karabayev. The launch was initially planned for 2024.
