PSA International reached a historic milestone, handling 100.2 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) at its terminals worldwide in 2024. This is the first time in the company’s history that annual transhipment volumes have exceeded the 100 million TEU mark. The flagship terminal in Singapore handled a record 40.9 million TEU (+5.5%), while PSA’s overseas terminals added 59.2 million TEU (+5.7%). The group’s combined volume growth was 5.6% compared to the previous year.
PSA International Chairman Peter Voser noted that 2024 is a year of cautious recovery for the global economy, despite challenges related to geopolitical conflicts, trade disputes and economic difficulties. He emphasized that this result is due to the dedicated employees and reliable partners whose support helps the company remain resilient in an uncertain economic environment.
PSA CEO Ong Kim Pong added: “PSA’s resilience, innovation, and teamwork have enabled us to achieve this extraordinary milestone of handling 100 million TEUs of containers in a single year. This achievement is built on the foundational efforts of our pioneer generations, who paved the way for our current team to further develop our container handling business.”
