Rail Baltica in Estonia: participants in the new stage of Europe’s largest infrastructure project have been identified.

Rail Baltica, one of Europe’s largest infrastructure projects, has completed the first stage of the competitive selection process for the construction of a section of the main line in Estonia. Five consortiums, including four international and one local, have passed a rigorous qualification process and will continue to compete for the contract worth up to 932 million euros. The winners will design and build the railway sections between Ülemiste, Pärnu and the Latvian border.

The participants in the selection process include such large associations as Bouygues Travaux Public, Merko Ehitus Eesti, Vinci Construction GeoInfrastructure and others. Anvar Salomets, Head of Rail Baltic Estonia, emphasized the importance of the alliance contract model, which allows combining the experience of international leaders and local companies.

“Working together will create the basis for an efficient and high-quality railway connecting the Baltic States with the rest of Europe,” Anvar Salomets noted.

The Rail Baltica project, funded by the European Union and Estonia, will not only accelerate the region’s integration with Central Europe, but will also open up new opportunities for Estonian companies in international markets. The main stages of implementation include submitting proposals, negotiations and signing contracts, which are planned to be concluded in the first half of 2025.
