The new coordination platform aims to expand the functionality of the Trans-Caspian transport route, turning it into a multimodal and competitive corridor connecting Europe with Asia in 15 days or less. This initiative will strengthen transport connections and infrastructure, which, according to the head of the Ministry of Transport, Marat Karabaev, will play a key role in the economic growth and prosperity of the regions.
Henrik Hololei, Senior Advisor to the Directorate General for International Partnerships, noted that the creation of a platform for the Trans-Caspian route is a significant step in bringing Central Asia and Europe closer together. Maya Bakran, Deputy Director-General of the European Commission for Mobility and Transport, added that the coordination efforts of various stakeholders will contribute to strengthening connections and sustainable economic development of the region.
The platform will promote the corridor and coordinate the implementation of priority projects in Central Asia, stimulating investment in rail, road and port infrastructure. This will not only improve physical infrastructure, but also increase the efficiency of transport links, which is important for the development of the region.
