The active phase of Rail Baltica construction begins in Latvia: meetings with residents of the Bauska region.

From 11 to 13 December, the Iecava Cultural Centre will host information days organised by Eiropas Dzelzceļa līnijas and the general contractor ERB Rail. The aim of the events is to inform local residents and stakeholders about the upcoming construction of the Rail Baltica highway and the impact of the project on the Bauska region and its community.

On 11 December, representatives of Eiropas Dzelzceļa līnijas, the Ministry of Transport, ERB Rail, the Iecava administration and the Bauska Municipality Council discussed construction plans for 2024–2025 with partners and introduced the project team.

Chairman of Eiropas Dzelzceļa līnijas Ēriks Diļevs noted that the Rail Baltica project in Latvia has entered a new stage. The work in the Iecava region includes the construction of 230 kilometres of highway, bridges, overpasses, underpasses and the laying of rails. ERB Rail director Andy Swift said the meetings with residents were designed to ensure open dialogue and answer important questions.
