A meeting of the working group on the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) was held in Tbilisi, where achievements and plans for the future were discussed. Over the 11 months of 2024, 50 thousand containers in twenty-foot equivalent (TEU) were transported along the route, and 328 container trains were organized, of which 304 departed from China. These indicators confirm the sustainable growth and effectiveness of the strategies being implemented.
The meeting participants approved tariffs for the transportation of goods along the TITR for 2025 and agreed on development plans. The main focus is on improving services and increasing the volume of transit container transportation. A new route record – the dispatch of the 300th container train from Xi’an, China to Azerbaijan via Kazakhstan – confirms the rapid growth in popularity of the TITR.
The indicators from China are especially impressive: the volume of transportation along the route exceeded 27 thousand TEU, which is 25 times more than in the same period last year.
