A new round of applications for funding for transport projects under the EU Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) programme has opened. €2.5 billion is being allocated for the development and modernisation of transport infrastructure in EU countries, as well as Ukraine and Moldova. The funds are expected to help expand the trans-European transport network (TEN-T).
Projects in areas such as railways, inland waterways, seaports, multimodal freight and passenger terminals, as well as improving the safety and resilience of infrastructure are eligible for funding.
EU Member States, international organisations, public and private companies from countries linked to the CEF, including Ukraine and Moldova, can apply. The call for applications will close on 21 January 2025.
