The ferry “Shahdag” returned to service after major repairs.

The Shahdag ferry of the ASCO Marine Transport Fleet successfully completed a major overhaul at the Zyg plant and was put back into operation. During the modernization, the main and auxiliary engines, pumps, coolers, as well as steam and auxiliary boilers were repaired. Welding of the hull, replacement of pipelines, automation of systems and repair of electrical equipment were carried out.

The vessel was equipped with new electronic radio navigation equipment, a communication system and a modern speed meter. In addition, the living and service quarters of the sailors were updated in accordance with modern standards. The completion of the work was the cleaning and painting of the above-water part of the vessel.

After successful sea trials, the ferry made its first voyage along the Trans-Caspian international transport route from the port of Alyat to the port of Kuryk. The vessel, 154.5 meters long, 18.3 meters wide and with a maximum speed of 12.5 knots, is ready for further operation.
