Euroports Group and Port of Hanko Ltd have inked a Letter of Intent (LOI) to establish an innovative wind hub at the Port of Hanko in Koverhar, Finland, solidifying the port’s position as a key player in the offshore wind supply chain. With 600 hectares at its disposal, including 90 dedicated to port activities, Koverhar Harbour is primed to handle large-scale wind turbine projects. This partnership signifies a substantial investment in renewable energy infrastructure, positioning Koverhar as a vital network hub in the Baltic Sea region.
Beyond addressing logistical hurdles, the initiative aims to foster a comprehensive green ecosystem within its extensive back-land area. Leveraging Euroports’ extensive experience as a terminal operator and their proven track record in both onshore and offshore wind industries, the collaboration aims to manage the entire value chain, encompassing freight forwarding through subsidiary Manuport Logistics. Both Euroports and the Port of Hanko are dedicated to transparency and engagement with stakeholders, underscoring their commitment to a sustainable future. The LOI marks a tangible step toward this goal, harnessing Koverhar Harbour’s strategic location and robust infrastructure to meet the escalating demands of the renewable energy sector.
