The maiden voyage of the new sea freight route “China-Europe Express” has successfully started. The vessel Kawa Ningbo departed from Ningbo-Zhoushan Port (China) to Wilhelmshaven (Germany), carrying lithium batteries and other goods for cross-border e-commerce.
The vessel is loaded with 1.7 thousand TEU, which indicates significant interest in the new route. It is expected to become an important logistics solution for accelerating shipments between Asia and Europe.
Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, one of the largest in the world, has ambitious development plans. By 2035, its total cargo throughput is planned to increase to 1.8 billion tons, and container throughput – to 60 million TEU.
