The Presidents of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan discussed cooperation in Central Asia

The presidents of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan discussed issues of stability and security in the Central Asian region during their recent talks. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Shavkat Mirziyoyev also discussed preparations for the sixth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and prospects for cooperation in C5+ formats.

As part of strengthening cooperation in the region, the leaders of both countries expressed support for initiatives to create a Joint Venture between the railway administrations of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. This enterprise will contribute to increasing trade between countries and the development of the Trans-Afghan route, providing favorable conditions for cargo transportation along the China-Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan route.

This project will also allow increasing the volume of goods transportation and creating favorable conditions for the development of cargo transportation in the southern direction.
