Ukraine and the EU are creating a single logistics space.

The Ukrainian government is actively working on integrating logistics systems with the European Union, said Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. The key areas are transport liberalization, modernization of border infrastructure, and joint customs control. Particular attention is paid to the “visa-free transport” that exempts Ukrainian carriers from obtaining permits to enter the EU, as well as the development of digital solutions, such as the eCherga system, which is already operating at 28 checkpoints.

One of the priorities is the renewal and expansion of border crossings. According to Shmyhal, by 2030 it is planned to modernize 29 checkpoints and build 17 new ones in cooperation with European partners. An important step will be the launch of a pilot project for joint border and customs control with Poland, which is currently being agreed upon with the European Commission.

In addition, the Ukrainian sea corridor continues to actively develop. Since its launch, it has been possible to transport more than 100 million tons of cargo to 53 countries. Taken together, these measures are aimed at accelerating trade turnover with the EU, where about 60% of Ukrainian exports are already directed.
