Ukrzaliznytsia increased freight transportation by 19% in 11 months.

From January to November 2024, Ukrzaliznytsia transported 160.9 million tons of cargo, which is 19.4% (or 26.2 million tons) more than in the same period of 2023. In export traffic, the volumes amounted to 77.46 million tons, showing an increase of 56.9% (+28.09 million tons). Among the key categories, grain cargo took the leading position: 36.66 million tons were transported over 11 months, of which 31.43 million tons were exported.

In November 2024, according to operational data, the volume of cargo transportation decreased by 7.3% compared to October, amounting to 13.96 million tons. In the export segment, the decrease was 10.5% to 6.4 million tons. The bulk of export shipments in November were grain (2.58 million tons, 40.3%), iron and manganese ore (2.35 million tons, 36.7%) and building materials (0.395 million tons, 6.2%).

The reason for the decrease in November volumes was the systemic impact on the energy infrastructure of Ukraine, noted Deputy Director of the Commercial Department of Ukrzaliznytsia Valeriy Tkachev. Despite the difficulties, the company demonstrates sustainable growth dynamics against the backdrop of improved logistics and export operations.
