Moller \u2013 Maersk, an integrated logistics company, and Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL), a Chinese energy technology company, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly advance the decarbonization of global supply chains and strengthen CATL\u2019s global logistics. The signing ceremony took place on October 9 in Hong Kong with the participation of executives from both companies, including Morton Bo Christiansen from Maersk and Akin Li from CATL, as well as Maersk Chairman Robert Maersk Ugla and CATL CEO Libin Tan.<\/p>\n<p>The MoU expands the companies\u2019 five-year collaboration in maritime shipping, intermodal logistics, and other solutions. Maersk will become CATL\u2019s preferred global logistics partner, providing integrated services including ocean and air freight, project logistics, and warehousing. The parties will also develop scalable models to enhance the resilience of CATL\u2019s supply chains and tailor solutions to the needs of various markets, supporting the company\u2019s international growth.<\/p>\n<p>Particular attention is paid to the electrification of key elements of the supply chain using CATL\u2019s advanced battery technology. Under the agreement, the parties plan to jointly develop electric container shipping, port infrastructure, inland shipping and warehousing, as well as energy management systems and battery recycling. The partnership supports Maersk\u2019s strategic goal of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040 and facilitates the logistics industry\u2019s transition to a low-carbon future.<\/p>\n<\/section>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A.P.
