Meanwhile, imports of raw materials and agricultural products declined, reflecting China\u2019s strategic shift toward developing domestic high-tech manufacturing and reducing its dependence on external resources.<\/p>\n<p>Significant changes also occurred in the geography of trade: China expanded cooperation with the EU and ASEAN countries, while trade with the US fell sharply. In July, the country\u2019s industrial sector demonstrated a 5.7% year-on-year increase in value added, increasing production in 35 of 41 key industries.
