The project is being implemented in two stages: the first stage will see the development of 133,000 square meters with the installation of proprietary transhipment technology, the creation of 270 parking spaces and an automated check-in system. The financing will be provided by the German Federal Railway Agency together with the company\u2019s investments.<\/p>\n<p>According to CargoBeamer CEO Nicolas Albrecht, the opening of the terminal in Kaldenkirchen is a key step in the company\u2019s strategy to transition to more environmentally friendly rail transport.
