The handover ceremony took place in Eskisehir, where the locomotives are assembled by T\u00fcrasa\u015f with the participation of the T\u00dcB\u0130TAK RUTE Research and Development Institute.<\/p>\n<p>The E5000 electric locomotive is certified according to European TSI standards, reaches speeds of up to 140 km\/h and is equipped with a 5 MW engine, making it suitable for Turkey\u2019s main trunk routes. The project is actively supported by the state: as noted by Transport Minister Abdulkadir Uralo\u011flu, 115 Turkish suppliers are involved in the production, providing key components \u2013 from transformers to bodies.<\/p>\n<p>The contract provides for the delivery of 95 locomotives: another 15 units will be delivered by the end of 2025, 30 in 2026, and the remaining 45 in 2027.
