Stephanie Pullings Hart, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Nestl\u00e9, served as the container ship\u2019s godmother. An important step for further development of the technology is the decisions that the International Maritime Organization (IMO) will make in London next month. A successful transition to alternative fuels requires regulatory support as well as active partnerships with companies like Nestl\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>The Adrian M\u00e6rsk has a capacity of over 16,000 TEU and will serve the Asia-Mediterranean route. As part of Maersk\u2019s new east-west route, the vessel will help the company achieve its ambitious goal of 90% schedule reliability. The use of biomethanol and emethanol on such vessels helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 65-90% compared to traditional fuels, which is an important step in the decarbonization of shipping.<\/p>\n<\/section>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A.P.
