The cranes will be the largest in Europe and will be able to handle two 40ft containers at a time, significantly speeding up the loading and unloading of ships.<\/p>\n<p>The equipment, which weighs in at over 2,000 tonnes, will arrive at the port from mid-2026. The new cranes are designed to handle the largest container ships with a capacity of up to 24,000 TEU and will last for around 25 years, ensuring the sustainability of DP World Southampton\u2019s logistics infrastructure in the long term.<\/p>\n<p>The investment continues DP World\u2019s growth strategy in the UK, including upgrading its logistics capabilities and expanding its integrated shipping network.
