Until November 23, the vessel remained at the Athabaskakai berth for preparation for unloading, after which the cranes were installed at berths 1 and 2. Completion of installation is scheduled for the end of November, and commissioning is scheduled for early 2025.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe new cranes will provide maximum flexibility for handling the largest container ships, making the terminal more efficient, environmentally friendly and prepared for future challenges,\u201d said CTB Managing Director <strong>Ingo Witte<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The 80-meter-high cranes can handle vessels with a capacity of up to 24,000 TEU and replace older models. Three more similar cranes are planned for installation at the terminal by 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The modernisation of CTB, Germany\u2019s largest container terminal, is ongoing and includes the automation of transport systems, the expansion of the block storage facility and the construction of a new 5,000 m\u00b2 repair hall.
