The project, which was launched in 2023 with the support of the ALTUM program and Citadele Bank, will help reduce the company\u2019s energy dependence and increase its efficiency, especially in the energy-intensive timber processing process.<\/p>\n<p>As part of its sustainable development strategy, WT Terminal plans to install an innovative hydraulic crane powered by electricity and modernize the berth power system, which will reduce emissions and the environmental impact of the terminal. This unified environmental infrastructure will increase the efficiency of the terminal and reduce its dependence on fluctuations in the electricity market.<\/p>\n<p>The Port of Riga is actively developing in the direction of \u201cgreen\u201d energy: solar power plants are already operating at the terminals \u201cKronospan Riga\u201d and \u201cBaltic Container Terminal\u201d, and a solar park is being built on the territory of \u201cR\u012bgas Univers\u0101lais Termin\u0101ls\u201d.
