The plan includes the construction of regional stations with the necessary engineering infrastructure, creating new opportunities for regional transportation.<\/p>\n<p>The construction of the Rail Baltica section between Kaunas and the Latvian border began in April 2022. Work is currently underway on the 29.2 km section towards Panevezys, and a contract for the construction of a new 17.1 km section was signed in October this year.<\/p>\n<p>According to the plan, there will be three types of regional stations on this section: base, sign and platform.
