Currently, one of the two flagship projects is being implemented in the Port of Szczecin: \u201cImproving access to the Port of Szczecin in the Kashubian Basin\u201d. The aim of the modernization is the continuous development of the ports, increasing the volume of handled cargo and increasing the competitiveness of the port complex of Szczecin and \u015awinouj\u015bcie in the Baltic Sea basin.<\/p>\n<p>At present, the main works on the berths are 80% complete, and dredging works are 65%. The works on strengthening the corners of the islands of Ostr\u00f3w Miele\u0144ski and Miele\u0144ska \u0141onka have been completed. The following berths are ready: D\u0105browieckie, Chorz\u00f3w, Gliwickie-Uskok and Chorz\u00f3w-Uskok. The Notecki Basin was flooded and closed.<\/p>\n<p>Particularly noteworthy is the D\u0105browieckie pier, equipped with the latest technology for handling liquid chemicals, including a comprehensive system of technical infrastructure for environmental protection. The pier is designed for regular handling of sulphuric acid, but in the future it can be adapted for other products. On 16 July, the final stage of dredging began, which will last until the end of October, and as a result of which the port will reach a technical depth of 12.5 m. The modernization of the Katowice pier is also in its final stage, with the work divided into four main sections.<\/p>\n<p>The project, worth almost PLN 245 million, is being carried out by Korporacja Budowlana DORACO with EU cohesion funding under the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment 2014-2020. The project will involve the reconstruction of about 1,000 meters of berths and the construction of over 400 meters of new berths. The investment includes work to upgrade rail and road systems, as well as water, sewer, electricity and telecommunications networks, with the project due to be completed by mid-2025.<\/p>\n<\/section>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Port Authority of Szczecin and \u015awinouj\u015bcie SA is the leader in the region in terms of investment volume.
