Maersk\u2019s move to leverage Shanghai for LCL shipments not only breaks away from the norm but also involves an extensive expansion of its LCL global consolidation network. With over 50 new trade lanes introduced, directly connecting to and from Shanghai, the move results in the facilitation of more than 200 direct LCL routes through the Shanghai port. As China remains the largest origin for Maersk\u2019s LCL business, the establishment of Shanghai as a global gateway positions Maersk to offer enhanced options for customers and tap into the growing demand in the Chinese LCL sector, particularly with the continuous expansion of China\u2019s exports and cross-border e-commerce
